An Evening Of Embroidery And Environment

New Delhi

When art has a purpose, it gives birth to a whole new world. It is powerful and transformative. The women of Samarpan Foundation were privileged and honoured to interact with acclaimed French artist, Anaïs Beaulieu, who is spreading the message of climate change and ecological conservation through the craft of embroidery. The message is made even stronger through the use of plastic bags as the base for the art work. On 12th September 2023, around 22 ladies from our Kotla community, New Delhi, were invited by partner organization Manzil Mystics for this one-of-a-kind session: ‘Threatened Species Threatened Spaces’. A culmination of skills and sensitization, our women got exposure like never before. This was followed by distribution of ration packets to the women.
