Hathi Basti Annual Day Celebration

New Delhi, India

On the bank of Delhi Yamuna, amidst the hustle-Bustle of the city life, exists a world known as Hathi Basti. Children of beggars, elephant mahouts, and vegetable sellers live there, who were highly impoverished and foraging for food every single day.

Believing in the adage-” No one should sleep empty stomach”  6 years ago, on this very day we decided to open up a school with daily nutritious meal.

Today we celebrate 6 years of its inception and cherish all the memories we have made. Children are now confident, punctual, and diligent with 50% of them studying in the mainstream schools and most importantly none of them are begging anymore.

After the colossal success of our Kishangarh School annual celebration, it’s time to celebrate Hathi Basti’s 6th Annual day and foster the moments we all spent by building the school brick by brick.
