Webhor: A step towards awareness

A two-month programme titled “Webhor” was organized with the girls of Samarpan Foundation by Manzil Mystics, a non-profit organization bringing change through music.
The sessions covered a range of subjects addressing some much-needed topics for today’s generation. Some of the areas discussed were self-love, sex and gender, queer and third gender, reproductive organs, menstruation, healthy body and healthy lifestyle. Understanding the importance of mental health, they also addressed issues like peer pressure, body image, emotions and women’s rights.
The sessions were conducted in an interactive way keeping music as a core medium. A total of 35 girls between the age group of 13-18 years participated in the programme and expressed that the sessions gave them a new perspective towards these sensitive topics.
