On the occasion of Women’s Day, our partners GMR Varalakshmi Foundation celebrated the resilience shown by our women beneficiaries and the success of project SMILE. Implementation partners including Samarpan Foundation, were recognised for their contribution in achieving this feat, and the women we supported were invited to share their journey towards financial independence. GMR Varalakshmi Foundation donated pushcarts for several women. The project aims to empower the lives of widows by providing push-pull carts to use as a source of income. The project also enables them to secure financial stability through a literacy program. On this day, GMR in association with Delhi Aviation Fuel Facility distributed 50 more carts to widows, thus crossing a total of 500 carts distributed since the onset of the pandemic.
